Taipei, Aug. 10, 2004 (CENS)--Many Taiwanese manufacturers of industrial-use
personal computers, including Flytech Group International Inc. and
XAC Automation Corp., boasted outstanding sales growth in July.
Yet Portwell Inc., which saw sales hit record highs in the first
six months of this year, and Adlink Technology Inc. failed to see
July sales hit record highs in July because of the delayed shipments
during that month.
Adlink's president Liu Chun and Flytech's president Lin Ta-cheng
said they would see sales hit new records in the third quarter of
this year because the quarter was traditionally a booming season
for the sales of industrial PCs.
Flytech said it would be able to see revenue exceed NT$140 million
(US$4.1 million at US$1:NT$34.1) in July, hitting a record high.
Portwell said it garnered NT$150 million (US$4.39 million) in sales
in July, lower than the previous month's NT$180 million (US$5.27
million) but up 84.93% from the same month of last year. The company
registered NT$1.101 billion (US$32.28 million) in sales in the first
seven months of this year, up 91.18% from the corresponding period
of last year.
XAC boasted it posted NT$175 million (US$5.13 million) in sales
in July, up 55.22% from the same month of last year. The company
saw sales reach NT$940 million (US$27.56 million) in the first seven
months of this year, up 22.4% from the same period of last year.
Adlink posted NT$120 million (US$3.51 million) in sales in July,
lower than June's NT$140 million (US$4.1 million). The company said
sales shrinkage in July was affected by delayed shipment requested
by customers.
The company noted it posted NT$755 million (US$22.14 million) and
NT$124 million (US$3.63 million) in sales and pretax earnings, respectively,
in the first half of this year, up 47.05% and 37.46% from the same
period of last year. The company garnered NT$1.99 (US$0.05) in earnings
per share in the first half.
Adlink estimated it would see a sales peak in the third and fourth
quarters of this year. The company targeted to post NT$1.32 (US$0.03)
and NT$1.51 (US$0.04) in EPS in the third quarter and fourth, respectively.
The company believed it would reach the goal of garnering NT$3.77
(US$0.11) in EPS this year.
